Q1 reflection of learning
There were many reasons on why me and my partner Erik chose
to do this project. For example one of them is he is originally from
Hawaii but he had to leave. He left his family behind so he could
travel. For me, my grandma left Mexico in order to give her five
daughters a better life. So at the end she left her whole family
behind. In this art project we obviosly see that it is an earth.
There are two different people on different continets. They are
being held together by a string though which represents the
power of family and how we will always maintain connected in
some way. This relates to the year 1924 because this was when
the immigration act became a thing. This is when people started
to make movements in order for everyone to be accepted and
treated equally. Not only this but Barrok Obama also created the
movement that help us through this time that was the DACA
movement and the reason this helped was because it gave those
who traveled here illigally to have a chance on getting a good/
equal education as every from the US has. This was for the kids
who where moved here and were raised here therefore this is
there home and no other place is. This is what helped my aunts
get through school and this is one of the memorable historic
movements.
